The Route 1 Community Farm will make farmland and fresh food more accessible to residents in the Route 1 Corridor who lack space and resources for their own gardens.
Together we’ll build toward great food sovereignty through the farm’s educational events, technical assistance, and other resources.
Event Location: 5580 Mount Vernon Mem Hwy. This address will get you to the farm road entrance in Google Maps. Please read these detailed driving directions.
We will be setting up the growing beds and path ways by:
Moving compost and soil to fill low spots in the ground.
Filling raised beds with compost or soil mix.
Other gardening tasks as needed.
What to wear & bring:
Close toe shoes that can withstand mud. Long sleeves and pants are recommended. Bring a sun hat and water bottle.
We welcome folks of all ages. If you plan to bring a child under the age of 10 years old, they will need your supervision at all times.
In case of poor weather:
We will email and/or text you if bad weather causes us to cancel the event. Please monitor your emails and texts before coming to the farm.
