Who can attend Pop-Up Programs?

Pop-Up Programs are for BSSC members only. Please note that our organization is intended as a safe space for BIPOC and other historically excluded groups to be in community and learn how to surf. To learn more about membership, please visit our website at www.blacksurfsantacruz.org.

How much is the suggested donation?

Accepted Answer

All programs including our Pop-up Programs (PUP) are free of charge to our community, and donating helps to support our free programming for the long haul. The estimated cost per person per PUP is roughly $120pp. (equipment rental = $50, food = $20, staff time/coaching = $50)

Question 3

What happens after I register on Eventbrite?

Accepted Answer

Registrants are limited to 8 participants per PUP. A few weeks before the event, you will receive an email with a mandatory form to get your equipment, food, and accessibility requests for the day. This email will also have event logistics, like where to go and what to bring!
