The Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center presents the core, true, classical teachings of the essential Yoga practices and philosophy for Self-Realization.Swami Sivananda,a great modern yogi and saint from the Himalayas, was a medical doctor before becoming a monk and famous sage. He is the guru ofSwami Vishnudevananda, who founded the organization named Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers, under the name of his Master.TheYogawe teach is the classical yoga/meditation method coming from Patanjali—the eight limbs of Yoga.Vedantaphilosophy comes from the Vedas, the oldest scripture known to humankind. It explains what the end is and how to achieve it. It teaches the unity of life or oneness of consciousness, and forms the philosophical basis of the teaching of Yoga.The motto "Unity in Diversity" points out that Oneness is our essence. The Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center is a non-profit, volunteer-based, spiritual organization open to all, irrespective of age, race, creed, sexual orientation or status.

<P>The music of India is one of the oldest unbroken musical traditions in the world. The origin of Indian classical music goes back to the Vedic times, when the Rishis (sages), deep in meditation, would contemplate different sound vibrations and tonal patterns and the effects it has on consciousness.</P>

<H2 STYLE="text-align: left;">Manik Khan</H2>
<P>Manik Khan is the youngest son of the late maestro, Ustad Ali Akbar Khan. He began his training on the sarod with his father at the age of 13. He is currently teaching, performing and working to preserve his family’s legacy – helping to keep this tradition of India’s rich cultural history alive and flourishing. Alongside a solo concert career, he has worked with various ensembles to present his father’s music in a way that has seldom been heard before. This includes working with local high schools to bring Indian Classical Music to their youth orchestras, and performing with the conductor Michael Morgan and the Fremont Symphony Orchestra to present a ‘West Meets East’ collaboration. He resides in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he continues his musical studies with his elder brother, Alam Khan.</P>

<H2 STYLE="text-align: left;">Nilan Chaudhuri</H2>
<P>Nilan Chaudhuri has spent his life steeped in the tradition of Inidan Classical Music. The third son of Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri, Nilan he has accompanied some of India’s most celebrated Indian classical musicians worldwide. He has performed at such venues as Carnegie Hall, The Fillmore, Yoshis, Fox Theater, and the Montery Pop Festival. Currently Nilan lives in the Bay Area where he continues to study under his father, while training his students and maintaining a busy performance schedule.</P>
