Check in at the UF/IFAS Extension Sarasota County 0ffice (6700 Clark Road, Sarasota) 30 minutes before the start of your tour. There will be parking at this location.

$ 69 per person (plus Eventbrite fee); refunds not available. Includes hot lunch served by Sarasota County Farm Bureau.

Come join us in celebrating Sarasota County's long history of farming and ranching by visiting some of the county's diverse agricultural operations! This is a fun-filled, educational day-long tour.

$69 per person includes transportation, lunch, and entry into all hosting sites. Reservations and advance payment are required. If you have any questions or need assistance, please call Rod Greder at (941)861- 9810.

The stops along the tour include:

  • Active cattle ranch
  • A successful vegetable operation
  • A native plant nursery
  • McIntosh Farm School for Grilled Lunch (with some interesting presentations)

Knowledgeable speakers and guides will make the trip fun and educational.

W e will also hear about the county's rich agricultural history.

Our tour is sponsored by UF/ IFAS Extension Sarasota County, Sarasota County Soil and Water Conservation District, Sarasota County Cattlemen's Association, and the Sarasota County Farm Bureau.

Optimize your experience: Wear boots or tennis shoes and clothing for variable temperatures. Note these are working farms; you may experience wet, uneven and rough terrain. Some items to consider: wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and rain jacket. Water will be provided or you can bring your own reusable bottles.

Tours will sell out. It is important to register early. Tours will go rain or shine.
