How is this set up?

The seating arrangement is random. After each date concludes, one row moves to the next conversation. Everyone will be able to connect with at least 75% of the room. The mixer afterwards is an optional opportunity to talk to anyone you didn't get a chance to meet, or to continue conversations.

Question 2

This seems cool but I am socially awkward / hate small talk. Will there be prompts?

Accepted Answer

All good! Meeting new people can be awk, but take comfort in the fact that everyone is in the same boat. Each date will start with a fun and open-ended prompt provided by your hosts. Then you can chat away til your time is up. This is a low-pressure and laid back environment - just be you!

Question 3

I'm gonna be late. Is that okay?

Accepted Answer

We ask all guests to please arrive during the 30 min check-in period starting at 5:30PM. Speed dating starts promptly at 6PM. Arriving late will throw a wrench into the machine, therefore we're unable to accommodate late arrivals. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation!

Are there age/gender/sexuality brackets for this?

Accepted Answer

The setup is not gendered. The only requirements are: be sapphic and be 21+. This event is for community connections first (other stuff as a plus, if that's what you mutually want). There's also no guarantee for any mutual romantic connections. Just prepare to connect in some way.

Question 5

I'm ONLY looking for friends. How do I ensure that I don't give people the wrong idea?

Good news: this event specifically defaults to friendship connections. Romantic connections are for those who are open to them. At check-in, y'all will fill out name tags that are color coded for what you seek [just friends or 'down for whatever] + identity indicators to avoid misunderstandings.

Will my personal match list be private?

Accepted Answer

Yup! Pinky promise. None of your dates will see or have access to whatever you've written on your note card. Regardless if it's a mutual match or not, we keep all your personal match markers private and only connect mutual matches. Your privacy matters!

Question 7

How can I connect with my matches after the event?

Accepted Answer

Your hosts will explain how to mark your matches on your note cards throughout the event! It's easy. When the event concludes, turn your note cards in to the front desk staff. You'll be privately emailed with your mutual matches that week. We don't share your info with anyone but mutual matches.

I'm not queer, but this looks fun! Can I still participate if I want to meet new people?

Respectfully, no. This is a safe space intended only for members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community 21+, and this specific event is exclusively for sapphics. We ask non-queer folks and allies for their support by respecting the intentions of this queer and sapphic-specific space and the boundary therein.

I identify as a man. Can I still come to the event?

Respectfully, no. This is a safe space intended only for women, trans and nonbinary folx of the sapphic experience ages 21+. We ask our cis, straight, and queer male identifying friends and allies for their support by respecting the intentions of this sapphic-specific space and the boundary therein.

Be yourself and come as you are. This is super casual (whatever that means to you).

Does my ticket include drinks?

Accepted Answer

Ticket includes a reserved spot at the event. All coffee and mocktail beverages at Cafecito Bonito sold separately. Thank you for supporting small local businesses!

Is this a drag show?

Accepted Answer

Nope. It's hosted by drag artists, but it ain't a drag show. If you want drag performances, we got other events! This is just speed dating and community fun, bb.

Will there be photography onsite?

Accepted Answer

Yes! This is just for promotional purposes and these photos are meant for our social media pages. Purchasing a ticket communicates an understanding of this. If you don't want to be photographed, please let us know at check-in and we'll let our photographer know.
