Sans Everything

Faux/Real is an all-new arts festival in the city of New Orleans that celebrates the creative artists of Theatre, Literature, Food, and Drink. Our mission is to curate three weeks of top-tier performances, reading, tastings, and parties in one of the most thrilling and unique cities on Planet Earth: New Orleans. New Orleans is a city of experiences-a place where the event is the thing and you have to be there to believe it. Faux/Real’s aim is to provide these one-of-a-kind experiences for a wide, diverse, and adventurous audience and to provide a wonderful resource for theatre artists, writers, chefs, and mixologists to show off their stuff on a national stage.

<P><SPAN>An original company-created play made in collaboration with Strange Attractor (Providence, RI/Philadelphia, PA/Juneau, AK) and Lightning Rod Special (Philadelphia, PA), Sans Everything follows a ship of elite space explorers as they are forced to perform As You Like It for the desires of a hostile space presence; an imposition that results in Elizabethan chaos that causes the collapse of a previously-harmonious society. Emulating the moody and dark genre of 70’s science fiction and set so far in the future that Shakespeare has been forgotten, Sans Everything asks: What do we owe the past when thinking about the future? What actions are we committing to today that result in an unrecognizable tomorrow? What does it mean to be human when nothing looks familiar anymore? Why is Shakespeare still so important and could we ever leave his work behind?</SPAN></P>
