His latest release as (Sandy) Alex G—a rebranding due to confusion with a YouTube star of the same name—came as a refreshing expanse on his established sound. Rocket, which features the twangy fiddle of Molly Germer, blends moments of psychedelic Americana with experimental hardcore.
