About this event

  • 4 hours

Each year, San Jose’s Mayor delivers the “State of the City” address at an event that reflects on where we’ve been and looks ahead to where we’re going. Just like last year, we’re doing things a little differently – and you’re invited to join us.

This year’s State of the City will be at Happy Hollow on June 1st at 9am.

We’re not throwing all traditions aside – we'll be taking time to highlight community heroes, and laying out a vision for how we make San Jose a safe, clean city for our residents.

But, we’ll also be asking something of you. After a short formal event (I promise I’ll keep my comments brief!), we’ll be participating in service projects, each led by a Councilmember and designed to make Happy Hollow and the surrounding area cleaner, safer, more beautiful places to be.

So many of you have taken action this year to make our city a better place. Whether you joined a clean-up, made your voice heard at public comment, or simply stayed up to date on what’s going on at City Hall – you made a difference.

After we complete our service projects, we’ll reconvene and celebrate our impact with food pop-ups, music and some special guests. I sincerely hope you’ll join us this year to celebrate our progress and chart a path forward together – it will take all of us!
