Join SAME Tulsa and representatives from USACE Tulsa District to learn the design features, lessons learned and status of construction status of the Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Complex Lower Hillside Stabilization Project. Lunch will be provided and attendees can earn one PDH. Speakers<ol><li>Rick Reese, Resident Engineer, Tulsa Area Office</li><li>Adam Smith, P.E., Lead Civil Engineer, SWD Dam Safety Production Center</li><li>Daniel Morales, P.E., S.E., Lead Structural Engineer, SD Dam Safety Production Center</li></ol>The western side of the complex in Muskogee, OK overlooks a historic construction debris dump zone, resulting in an unsatisfactory foundation condition. This foundation permitted infiltration and foundation piping from routine storm events and culminated in a shallow earth slide after a major rain event in the mid-2010s.
