Learn how to cook Maamoul cookies with Samah!

Please join us in a free, livestream cooking class led by Samah, a member of the Women's Committee at The Northeast Passage, a hubsite of Mural Arts Philadelphia's Porch Light Program. Samah will walk you through how to make a Maamoul cookies, buttery shortbread delights traditionally filled with either pressed dates or pistachios. Want to cook along with Samah? You will need these ingredients:Cookies<ul><li>5 Cups All Purpose Flour</li><li>5 Cups Semolina Flour</li><li>1.25 m Mahleb (Aromatic) </li><li>3 Cups Ghee (or Butter)</li><li>⅓ Cup Oil</li><li>1 Cup Sugar</li><li>2 Cups Milk</li></ul>Filling<ul><li>1 Pack (17.6 oz) Pitted, Pressed Dates or Crushed Pistachios</li><li>Syrup (see below)</li></ul>Syrup<ul><li>4 Cups Sugar (Water to Cover)</li><li>Pinch of Citric Acid or Lemon Juice</li></ul>Please note that registration does not guarantee admission.
