The Scenario

The late summer of 1944 finds a quaint French village amidst the ebb and flow of war. The air is thick with tension and the echoes of distant artillery. The cobblestone streets, once bustling with the laughter of villagers, now bear the scars of conflict. Faded shutters hang precariously from weathered stone buildings, and the occasional sound of distant gunfire interrupts the uneasy stillness.

At its heart a centuries-old court house stands as a silent witness to the turbulent events unfolding around it. Its spire, weathered by time and conflict, pierces the azure sky like a solemn sentinel. The village square, once a gathering place for celebrations and markets, is now a strategic point contested by both sides. The narrow alleys, once a labyrinth of charm, now serve as potential battlegrounds, their corners harboring the uncertainty of what each step may reveal.

As the sun dips lower on the horizon, casting long shadows over the cobblestone streets, the village erupts into a scene of chaos. The rattle of machine gun fire and the sharp crack of rifles echoes through the air.
