Salem Classicalis the home of classical music located in the heart of the pedestrian zone of historic downtown Salem with the Old Town Hall as its principle venue. This year-round series was created to establish a musical home for local and touring musicians and is designed to provide a constant source of classical music to the residents of Salem and the thousands of visitors to the city. The vision of Salem Classical is to remove the boundary between the public and performers, bringing some of the greatest music ever composed to Salem. Salem Classical 2017/2018 Season
Mixed chamber ensemble Some Assembly Required requires some assembly as we collaborate with composers, guest performers, and our audience in the production of exciting, atypical, and carefully curated concerts. 
SAR was founded in early 2015 as a collaborative effort between Boston professional and freelance artists to provide their audience with a unique musical experience, frequently venturing into repertoire that is rarely heard in public performance.
Not accepting the limitations placed upon us by the small amount of repertoire available for our instrumentation, SAR starts by choosing music that we want to present and then finding a way to provide a meaningful presentation of the music by methods of arrangement and collaboration with others. The core members of the ensemble strive to design programs that go beyond the traditional concert format by bringing the performers, audience, and venue into close contact.
