Safety Village is a basic safety educational program for Clark County children entering kindergarten (ages 4 to 5). Safety lessons include:

  • Personal safety
  • Railroad crossings
  • Stranger Awareness
  • Street and safety signs
  • D.A.R.E. concepts
  • Drugs and Poisons
  • Fire Safety
  • School Bus Safety
  • Home safety
  • Pet/Animal Safety

These safety awareness lessons are conducted over a 4 day period of 2 hours per day.

Message

The Safety Village message is simple: To Keep Themselves Safe. The children will practice and experience situations so they can make the right, safe decision when confronted with real-life dangerous situations.

Sponsors

The Safety Village program is cosponsored by the Clark County Schools, the Springfield Pilot Club, the Exchange Club of Springfield, the Clark County Farm Bureau, Pathways Financial Credit Union, and the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

Enrollment & Registration

Enrollment is limited and on a first-come basis. Children must attend the full four days to graduate on Thursday. Children may attend any location, but can only attend one session. There is no charge for attending Safety Village and all handouts are free- including a t-shirt and deputy hat they will wear on the last day of class for a graduation program. We encourage families and friends to attend graduation to see what safety lessons have been learned.

Please dress your child for inside activity and please no hats or toys that could get lost. It is more important than ever that we provide our children with an interactive place where they can learn. Our classes will teach your children safety lessons that will last a lifetime.

The course is free, but it will be the parents’ responsibility to provide transportation.

Class sizes will be limited to 20 students.
