What You’ll Learn
A Certified SAFe® Lean Portfolio Manager (LPM) understands how Strategy and Investment funding is established, how to apply Agile Portfolio operations and Lean governance, and how to build a plan for implementing the Lean Portfolio Management function.
Participants in the course will have the opportunity to capture the current and future state of their portfolio with the Portfolio Canvas tool and identify important business initiatives for achieving the portfolio vision. Participants will be able to establish portfolio flow with the Portfolio Kanban and prioritize epics for maximum economic benefit.
The course also provides insights on how to establish Value Stream Budgets and Lean Budget Guardrails and measure the Lean portfolio performance.

- Preparation and eligibility to take the exam
- One-year membership to the SAFe Community Platform
- Certificate of completion
- SAFe Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) certification upon passing exam
Attendees must attend all days of the course in order to qualify for the exam.
Annual Renewal
Certifications expire one year from the date of certification is earned. The renewal fee is $100/year.
Professional Development Units (PDUs) and Scrum Education Units (SEUs)
Attendees may be eligible to apply PDUs toward their continuing education requirements with the Project Management Institute (PMI) for PMP, PgMP, PMI-RMP, PMI_SP, PMI_ACP, PfMP, or PMI_PBA certifications.

Brian has trained and coached 300+ Agile teams/2000+ individuals since 2009—including volunteer work at Guatemala Tec Park incubator to launch Agile teams through a U.S. State Department program. He has been an advisor to startups, mid-market and Fortune 500 companies with complex Agile transformations at global scale. Brian is an avid marathon runner and sailor—pursuits that help him further his ideas on optimizing individual and organizational agility.
