About this event

  • 2 hours 30 minutes

Saami Brothers are a group of accomplished vocalist and humble custodians of the traditions of Qawwali and Khayaal of Hazrat Ameer Khusrau and Ustad Taanrus Khan Sahab.

Comprising of four sons of the critically acclaimed Maestro Ustad Naseeruddin Saami, they are well-versed in several eastern classical genres, currently performing as a Riwayati Qawali group.

Saami Brothers grew up in a family with rich musical heritage, referred to as Qawal Bachcha Delhi Gharana. The lineage of this gharana leads back around 800 years, all the way back to Saamat Bin Ibrahim, a principal student of Hazrat Ameer Khusro.

At South Asia Institute, Saami Brothers will be singing Qawwalis and Khayaals for our guests in their debut performance on our space.

Complimentary tea and snacks provided at the concert. For sponsorship opportunities, please email info@saichicago.org

There will be a 15 minute intermission during the performance.
