About this event

Rights x Tech is back with an exciting new conversation featuring award-winning women's rights activist and author Seyi Akiwowo from Glitch UK. Join us as we delve into the topic of digital citizenship and explore how to reclaim our humanity on an increasingly toxic internet.

Social media platforms boast billions of daily active users—Facebook alone pulls more than twice the population of the United States and Europe combined. Yet, there are no governments or elected officials we can call for help when Black and brown women and other marginalized genders face harassment on these unregulated platforms.

Join us as we discuss the four pillars of digital citizenship: digital self-defense, digital self-care, being an online active bystander, and tech accountability. Come learn how to take care of ourselves and our people in the face of online abuse while holding institutions accountable.

Join us by registering today! We encourage you to submit your questions for Seyi or the group in advance via the registration form or by clicking here!
