About this event

  • 3 days 17 hours

Join us for the 2024 RV Miles Homecoming! — This now annual tradition showcases the spirit of RV Miles: community, camaraderie, and the allure of the open road. Set against the backdrop of a Midwestern fall harvest, with its serene ambiance and vibrant colors, this gathering promises fun, food, and the unique pleasures of simple living.

Come join Jason, Abby, Jack 17, Ethan, 14, and Henry 11, (and some extended family, too), from October 9 - 13th. It's an occasion to reminisce about the year's RV adventures, meet fellow enthusiasts, make new friends, reconnect with old ones, and look forward to the coming year of road-bound escapades.

The 2024 Homecoming Rally takes place within the rich cultural history of the Amana Colonies of Iowa. Recognized as a National Historic Landmark, the Amana Colonies preserve a unique 19th-century way of life. You'll have the opportunity to explore local shops offering handcrafted goods, taste delicious traditional German meals, or soak up the peaceful ambiance these colonies are renowned for.

We're thrilled that our host park offers affordable full-hookup sites nestled within the fields of Amana. Space is limited, and we strongly recommend registering as soon as possible.

Tickets will be available starting 4/1/24 for our esteemed Mile Marker Members and from April 15th for the general public.

Pricing:

Homecoming Ticket:

  • $200 per adult (children attend for free*) for Mile Marker Members plus your nightly camping fee.
  • $225 per adult (children attend for free) for the general public plus your nightly camping fee.

  • and more!

Camping Fee: $35 per night plus tax for full hookups.

You must call the RV Park to reserve your camping after purchasing your Homecoming tickets. Information will be provided at checkout. The sites are held for the rally and we will be camped together in a group. You can reserve a spot beginning October 8th if you'd like to arrive a day early. Unfortunately, you will not be able to get the rally rate for nights booked before October 8th. The weekend before the rally is Octoberfest in Amana, and the park will be heavily booked.

All sites at the Amana RV Park are 75′ x 30′ and equipped with sewer/water/electric – unless otherwise selected. Tents are allowed.

The $35 rate is for parties of up to two adults and four children ages 14 years and younger. Additional campers over the age of 14 must pay an additional $3 plus tax per night of camping. Please note: the park does not allow more than 4 adults per campsite. Camping is subject to the rules of the park.

If you are not yet a camper, there are boutique hotels and bed & breakfasts in Amana, or you can find chain hotels within a 20-minute drive in either Cedar Rapids or Iowa City.

Join us for this memorable rally, and let's toast to the joy of the RV lifestyle, to community, and to the adventures that lie ahead.

We can't wait to meet you there!

- Jason and Abby

Frequently asked questions

What are the Amana Colonies

The Amana Colonies are seven villages on 26,000 acres located in Iowa County in east-central Iowa. They are some of America’s longest-lived communal societies and one of many utopian colonies established in the US during the 18th and 19th centuries.

Is everything on-site? Is transportation provided?

A few optional activities will be off-site, and we are not able to offer transportation. They are very close, however (about 2 miles), and very bikeable. If you will not have a vehicle, you can try to arrange to carpool with others.

Are pets welcome?

Pets are welcome on a leash in the RV park in accordance with the park's rules. Pets may not be allowed at some of the off-site locations we visit during the rally.

When is check-in/check-out time at the park?

The park's check-in/checkout time is 12:00pm each day. Information about late checkouts or early check-ins is available at the Registration Office.

What is your refund policy?

A full refund of your registration fee is available prior to September 9th (one month out). There will be no refunds after that point, or for inclement weather. We have a large enclosed building on site for our activities. Camping reservation refunds are subject to the park's policies.

Kids are free - does that include food?

Yes, kids will be fed, too! But if they're picky eaters, you may want to plan to feed them on your own.

Can I attend if I don't have an RV?

Absolutely, you can tent camp at the park (regular rates apply), or you can stay at a local hotel or bed and breakfast and drive to the event each day.

How Will We All Communicate Before and During the Event?

There's a Facebook group specifically for HOMECOMING attendees. You'll receive a link to it upon registering. If you don't have Facebook, don't worry, we'll still keep you posted about important event details and last-minute changes via email.
