Runaways is a collection of songs, dances, and spoken-word pieces performed by youth who have run away from their homes. Initially created from interviews with homeless children and those in orphanages, Liz Swados weaves songs about personal struggle and the world at large through the eyes of youth in New York City in the ’70s. The show blends different musical styles, from pop to hip-hop and jazz to reggae, while asking why children can’t remain children.  Nominated for five Tony Awards and three Drama Desk Awards when first produced in 1978.
Please note:  due to the intimate nature of Booth Theatre, late seating cannot be guaranteed. Latecomers will be seated at the discretion of house management.
Approximate running time: one hour, forty minutes, with no intermission.

Are you accessible via public transit, or is there parking available?
Booth Theatre is conveniently located a short walk from the Boston University West stop on the MBTA Green Line - B Branch.
Parking is available starting 90 minutes prior to performance time. Booth Theatre Garage entrance is at 148 Essex Street. Rates will vary, generally $12-15 for theatre events. Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No - you do not have to print any tickets. Simply check in with the box office when you arrive.
 
Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?
Yes, the attendee should give the name the ticket was booked under.
