Rum Rendezvous: A Spirited Journey with Plantation Rum

Embark on an exquisite journey of flavor and discovery at Westchester Wine Warehouse's exclusive Rum Rendezvous! For one evening only, immerse yourself in the rich, velvety world of Plantation Rum, guided by the expertise of Francois Zelbat, Northeast Director at Maison Ferrand.

This spirited adventure is set to unfold on Wednesday, March 20th, from 6 PM to 7 PM, promising an hour packed with education, tasting, and unparalleled enjoyment.

Francois will lead us through a captivating tasting of five distinctive rum expressions from Plantation Rum's celebrated collection. Each selection has been meticulously crafted to showcase the unique terroir and traditional distillation methods that give these rums their award-winning profiles.

PLANTATION XO 20TH ANNIVERSARY
This centuries-old “double ageing“ process imparts incredible smoothness and complexity. It unveils a sophisticated palate of chocolate, vanilla, ripe banana, roasted coconut and a hint of fresh mango notes. With a remarkably long finish, Plantation XO 20th Anniversary is truly a rum to savor.

PLANTATION BARBADOS 5 YEARS
American oak barrels play host to this rum where it ages for three to four years. Next a woody and nutmeg palette is drawn out in Ferrand French oak casks as the rum continues to mature for one to two years. The result is a subtle and tropical Barbadian style rum, excellent for aperitifs or classic cocktails like the Mai Tai.

PLANTATION ISLE OF FIJI
This delicious rum is made using traditional techniques and local Fijian sugar cane. First aged in this tropical climate in bourbon casks, the rum is then sailed to the southwest of France for a second maturation in French oak casks. This double ageing method paired with Fijian know-how creates a rum with warm notes of exotic fruits and raisin.

PLANTATION 3 STARS
Plantation 3 Stars is a tribute to the historic rums produced in the Caribbean, with a suave blend of the region’s three primary terroirs: Barbados, Jamaica and Trinidad. While Barbados delivers richness and a balanced palate, Trinidad adds finesse and Jamaica provides an emphatic structure. A perfect rum for Daiquiris.

PLANTATION STIGGINS' FANCY PINEAPPLE
A tribute to the character created by Charles Dickens in the Pickwick Papers, Reverend Stiggins, whose favorite drink was “pineapple rum.” The barks of Victoria pineapples are infused in Plantation 3 Stars rum, which is then further distilled. Separately, the pineapple fruit is infused in Plantation Original Dark rum. Both distillate and fruit infusion are finally blended together, creating a rich and delicious pineapple bouquet, accented by smoky and clove notes.
