All things R & RStudio
Broaden and deepen your understanding of R and RStudio at rstudio::conf 2017!
Learn to write better shiny applications | Understand the new capabilities of the R Markdown authoring framework | Apply R to big data and Spark | Explore the “tidyverse” of tools for data science | Discover best practices and tips for coding with RStudio | Investigate enterprise scale development and deployment practices and tools – including RStudio Connect
Not to be missed, RStudio has reserved Universal Studio’s The Wizarding World of Harry Potter on Friday night, January 13, for the exclusive use of conference attendees (ticket purchase optional)!
Main Agenda - Jan 13th & 14th
At rstudio::conf we want to you see the big picture, to understand our vision of how packages and tools should fit together to make a frictionless data science environment.
We also want to help you get the most out of your favorite RStudio tools. Discover the power of the latest features in RStudio. Find out what’s new and go deeper with Shiny. Learn to use R Notebooks and make dashboards, books, entire websites and more with R Markdown.
Go to the full conference schedule to see what topics you won't want to miss.
Training Agenda - Jan 11th & 12th
Prior to the main conference we will be offering three different workshop tracks.
NEW - Master the Tidyverse: An Introduction to R for Data Science - This is a two-day workshop that covers the new book “R for Data Science” from Hadley Wickham and Garrett Grolemund. The workshop provides a comprehensive overview of what is now called the Tidyverse, a core set of R packages that are essential to Data Science. We will visualize, transform, and model data in R and work with date-times, character strings, and untidy data formats. Along the way, you will learn to use the brightest stars in the tidyverse: the ggplot2, dplyr, tidyr, readr, purr and tibble packages along with stringr, lubridate, hms, and forcats. A basic knowledge of R syntax is assumed.
SOLD OUT - RStudio Master R Developer Workshop - This is a two-day workshop, designed for people with experience programming in R. You should have written a number of functions, and be comfortable with R’s basic data structures (vectors, matrices, arrays, lists, and data frames). We will cover the three main paradigms of R programming: functional programming, object oriented programming and metaprogramming; and learn how to make R packages, the key to well-documented, well-tested and easily-distributed R code.
SOLD OUT - Intermediate Shiny & R Markdown Workshop - This is a new two-day workshop designed to go beyond the basics. Some Shiny programming experience is assumed. Write apps that are faster, more robust, and easier to maintain by mastering Shiny’s more advanced features. Explore interactive plots, modules, database integration, Shiny Gadgets, and performance profiling, with plenty of hands-on coding. Learn from Shiny’s creator the mechanics of writing better apps but also why things work the way they do.
RStudio has reserved a block of rooms at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center for $209 per night + applicable taxes. These are available on a first come first served basis.
