The Residents Preference Program (RPP) helps eligible City of Milwaukee residents access employment opportunities tied to certain City-supported projects. Many covered projects require contractors to hire RPP-certified residents, making certification an important step for residents seeking these opportunities.

Who May Be Eligible?

To qualify for RPP certification, you must:

• live in the City of Milwaukee
• meet at least one additional eligibility condition, such as:
• • not having worked in the last 15 days
  • having worked fewer than 1,200 hours in the last 12 months
  • meeting certain federal poverty guidelines

What to Bring

• Photo ID
• Proof of City of Milwaukee residency
• Any documents that may help verify eligibility
