Rough Draft Writing Space Event
New writing group offering a chill and supportive setting to get words on the page together.
Come along for a creative Sunday evening wind-down and enjoy a tea or drinky in the wonderfully cosy Oscar's at Wilde, Cambridge.
What to bring: Your preferred writing medium (e.g. paper and pen, laptop)
Plan for the evening:
7.15 pm / Welcome and grab a drink
7.30 pm / 30 minutes quiet writing time
8.00 pm / Break to chat about how things are going, any knots you're trying to work through, what is inspiring you right now
8.15 pm / Relaxed writing time
Feel free to head off whenever you like
My name is Bob and I am a historian, curator, and writer. I find I am most creatively inspired when I am amongst others in a setting that is relaxed and focussed on process rather than end result. I wanted to create a space like this for myself and others. Starting off as a one-off event, I would love if this could become a regular space for folks to come together and make progress on their projects, get over writer's block, or get inspired with something totally new. Hopefully, this will be a lovely way to wind down for the evening and you can head into the new week feeling motivated and buzzing with ideas.
We need more third spaces to gather, share ideas, and get inspired. Whether you write poetry, essays, novels, plays, or just scribbles on napkins, if you're a lover of words this group space welcomes you.
