About this event

  • 2 hours

Join Ian Tomashik of Preservation Dearborn, and Mason Christensen, of the Dearborn Historical Museum, on an exploration of the Rouge Greenway Trail from the DHM's McFadden Ross House (915 Brady) to the U-M Dearborn campus. Participants will learn about how the Rouge has frequently been rerouted and modified over the years. Furthermore, there will be a deep dive into local rail history, a unique series of farms that existed near the Rouge River, stories of Indian trails, the early history of the Ford Fair Lane property, and more.

Items to note about the tour:

All guests should be prepared to walk, sometimes on uneven surfaces, for about an hour and a half to two hours.

If it looks like it will be stormy or too hot, we will reschedule and let you know ahead of time. Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of the tour.

Restroom facilities may be unavailable along the tour route. We will not be entering any buildings as part of the tour, but the McFadden Ross House will be open before and after the tour.
