Are tickets required for the event?

Tickets aren't required but encouraged so we can estimate how many people may come to the event. This helps the authors prepare when they estimate how many books to bring to the event.

What types of Romance books will be available?

Attending authors will be announced on our social media platforms. Authors attending focus on all different varieties and heat levels of romance. (Find the super sweet up through super spicey.)

Will there be non-romance books available?

Accepted Answer

We love authors of all genres, but for Romance Your Shelf 2027 we are focusing specifically on the romance genre.

Question 4

Who can participate in the Romance Fika or readings?

Accepted Answer

Recommendation of 18+ given the variety of heat levels, but we aren't limiting the ages of attendees. There will be a list of authors posted and their websites so you can get a better idea of which author(s) you'd be interested in listening to.

Where will the readings be?

In the pews! The church itself is smaller and cozy. Yes, I cleared this, and no we aren't limiting the heat level of the readings.

Where will the authors be?

Signing authors will be in the main hall area. Authors attending have published anywhere from 2 to 20+ books. Any authors speaking after their panel/reading will be in the atrium space between the general author section and the space where readings take place.

What is involved in the Romance Fika?

Romance Fika is a combination of a book club with no set book to read and the Swedish concept of fika. This is a gathering space where the Bookish Guides will host guests to play bookish games, chat tropes, and help facilitate connection in the amazing HEA community.

Do I have to purchase a book while I'm there?

Encouraged but not required. We love talking to readers of our genre. Come talk to us about books, chill out and listen to excerpts from books, or a panel conversation.  Many of the authors also have books to borrow from the local libraries so we encourage you to come brows too.

What happens if it snows?

Snow is always a possibility in New Jersey. We do not have a backup date for this event at this time. Should there be a storm and we have to cancel, we'll post on our Facebook and Instagram pages.

Any special hints about directions?

YES! Mendham is a wonderful town but sometimes the GPS can get finicky when bringing people to St. Mark's. Two easy work arounds for this are to punch in Sorrento's Pizza 5 E Main St, Mendham, NJ 07945-1536  or The Black Horse Tavern and Inn 1 W Main St, Mendham, NJ 07945.
