VERY EXCITING NEWS!!! In 1980, Fulton Street along Golden Gate Park was lined with skate rental trucks. The trucks will pull up on the weekends and thousands of people would come out to skate on JFK Drive on Sundays, the only day the roadway was closed to car traffic. In 1982 the skate rental trucks were banned from the city. Now in 2024, JFK Promenade is closd to car traffic every day. We have a permenant roller skating area at 6th Ave. Skatin' Place where skaters from around the world come to strut their stuff or to bring their families to have a great time skating in the park. What we did not have is skates there for people to rent - UNTIL NOW!!!
Beginning Saturday, April 27, 2024 we will begin renting skates at 6th Ave. Skatin' Place. We will open at 11AM and close at 6PM of Saturdays and Sundays. The cost for skate rentals will be $20.00 an hour for adults, $12.00 for youth 12 and under, $5 for safety gear and $5.00 for each additional hour.
