Robotica STEM Workforce Development Summit

The official chapter of the Association of Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) for the New England region. We represent the makers and marketers of All Things Unmanned®, from robotics, Ai, unmanned & remotely piloted vehicles, to exoskelatal and internal medical devices. Our chapter hosts the Robotica Series of quarterly summits, as well as numerous other social and educational meetings under the Unmanned Insights brand.

Finding and retaining talent is a big challenge.
Unemployment levels have reached an all-time low, and the continued growth in the technology sector has created a clear shortage in available Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) talent to fill positions in manufacturing, design, service and many other critical roles. Companies that seek to expand operations and markets must seek out qualified employees who will support their vision, and help them meet milestone objectives.
AUVSI New England will host the Robotica STEM Workforce Development Summit at WPI Seaport in Boston to learn about current and future challenges and explore possible solutions to questions of STEM pipeline development, finding talent, and employee engagement for new and established technology firms. 
Based on a recent survey, 60% of respondents struggle to find the talent they need and 52% think the robotics industry needs better-trained talent.  Nearly 50% of respondents think K-12 STEM initiatives are the most important aspect of workforce development.  And, many struggle to fill positions such as Project Engineering, Experienced Service Technician, and Entry-Level Engineers and Technicians. 
With insights from industry analysts, regional technology employers, education and training leaders, as well as state & regional workforce development policy leaders, we will explore a range of critical questions to help you manage workforce growth in your firm with an eye on future trends, challenges and opportunities.
