The Future of the Gaming Industry and Why We Need Strict Regulation

Summary

This presentation covers a brief history of gaming statutes and regulations in multiple countries. It provides the presenter’s views of the current state of gaming regulation and enforcement in the United States, Great Britain, Australia and Canada. The remarks include a review of the legal framework which established the acceptance of gambling as a form of entertainment and provides a prescription for continuing or re-establishing public confidence and trust.

Speaker Bio

Michael Rumbolz has over 40 years of experience in all aspects of the gaming industry, including gaming-related equipment, systems manufacturing, and distribution; casino project development and construction; hotel and casino operations; lottery and slot-route operations; and gaming legislation and regulation. Before transitioning to Executive Chairman of the Board, Mr. Rumbolz served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Everi Holdings, Inc. from April 2020 until April 2022, having previously served as President and Chief Executive Officer from February 2016 through March 2020. He had previously served as a member of the Board of Directors of Everi from September 2010 until becoming its President and CEO. Mr. Rumbolz received his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, with honors, from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas and his Law Degree from the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law.
