Description

Let's go on a road trip to Horton Classic Car Museum in Nocona, Texas, followed by lunch at McGehee Catfish Restaurant in Marietta, Oklahoma!

We'll depart the Denton Supercharger at 9:00am for the Horton Classic Car Museum.

The Horton Classic Car Museum is housed in what once was the town's Ford dealership. Over 135 cars are contained in the collection, which largely focuses on American vintage, classic and muscle cars. Over 40 Corvettes are part of the collection, featuring nearly every year of production between 1953 and 1978. Several 1950's era convertibles are also included, along with many 1950s Senior Award winners from the Chevy and Pontiac Nationals. Different models of Chevrolets, Fords, Pontiacs, Packards, Plymouths, Oldsmobiles and even a Studebaker are featured in the collection, which is always changing and growing.

After Horton, we'll take winding Farm-to-Market and Oklahoma State Roads to get to McGehee Catfish, arriving between 1-1:30pm.

McGehee is known their all-you-can-eat catfish dinner and we understand there are other items on their menu (though we've never tried any of them).

After lunch, you're on your own to get home, either direct or via a stop at the Ardmore Supercharger (twenty-three miles North on I-35).

Charging Logistics

The total distance from the Denton Supercharger is 166 miles. EVTripPlanner estimates 48 kWh to make the trip, which should put it in range for a 60 doing the speed limit. We've done this drive in an 85 without charging in Denton at all.

If you do need or want to charge in Denton, arrive early and join us for coffee and donuts.

Admission to Horton Classic Car Museum:
