River Expedition
Come for a great day of adventure on the Rubicon River with a CEC staff member to guide you!
This guided canoe trip will take you from the CEC up and down the winding Rubicon River past wetlands, sand-bars, and amazing forests.
Bring a bagged lunch to enjoy on the shores of the river during our expedition.
Two people per canoe, with the exception that children ages 4-6 can sit in the middle of the canoe as a passenger between two paddlers. You will find a limited number of discounted passenger tickets as an add-on to purchasing a paddler ticket.
The program runs from 10:30 am-2:00 pm and will meet in St. Francis Hall in the main CEC Neu building (see map below).
Participants younger than 10 must be accompanied by a paid adult with that paid child. Ages 10-12 must have completed either an Intro to Canoeing Workshop in 2025 or a Canoe Camp in 2026 if they wish to attend without an adult. Age 13 and up can sign up without an adult.
All minors are required to have a liability waiver signed by a parent or guardian.
Canoes, paddles, life jackets and dry bags included. Life jackets will be worn by all on the entire journey.
Please note that due to water level fluctuation throughout the summer, participants may have to step out of their canoe during the trip. Please wear appropriate footwear and clothing keeping in mind you may get wet and step in the water.

Online registration only. Ticket sales close at 3pm the day before.
Refunds not available within two weeks of the program date.
A minimum of four participants is required to run this program. In the event we need to cancel due to low enrollment, extreme weather, or poor river conditions, you will be given the opportunity to transfer your registration to another date or request a refund.
