Our Philosophy“Battery Park City Authority's public programs and events in the parks, at 6 River Terrace, and at the Community Center at Stuyvesant High School offer a wide range of activities that encourage fun, physical recreation, relaxation, entertainment, learning and environmental awareness.”We believe in the value of play to children’s social, emotional, and physical growth and development. BPCA's programs provide opportunities for children to socialize, develop fine and gross motor abilities, and have fun! Our play-based approach provides experiential learning opportunities as children create, build, imagine, think, move, and grow. Moreover, BPCA's public programming is mixed-age, where children learn from one another and build confidence with their peers. Whether it be a weekend workshop or an ongoing class, our programs offer a space for parents and caregivers to engage their children in meaningful play, storytelling, music, and art. We hope you can join us!

Formed in the 1970s and recently nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, these wolves have bite!
JULY13 <A HREF="http://www.rebirthbrassband.com/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">REBIRTH BRASS BAND</A> From the Big Easy to the Big Apple, Rebirth Brass Band show why they’re considered pillars of their native New Orleans music scene. Infectious and groove-laden, their Grammy winning “heavy funk” will bring your straight to the bayou.
JULY20 <A HREF="http://www.bettyelavette.com/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">BETTYE LAVETTE</A> Regarded as one of the premier live vocalists performing today, Bettye LaVette brings her emotive soul and blues interpretations to Battery Park City. With her first record released at the age of sixteen, LaVette is an enduring icon of many musical styles who shouldn’t be missed.
JULY27 <A HREF="http://www.vieuxfarkatoure.com/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">VIEUX FARKA TOURE</A> Son of Grammy winner Ali Farka Toure and often referred to as “The Hendrix of the Sahara”, Vieux Farka Toure delivers emotionally charged songs and spectacular guitar work from his native Mali. With his unique and intricate fingerstyle playing, Farka Toure transports the beauty and culture of his homeland to NYC.
