RIIAA 6.0RIIAA brings together students, researchers, and industry members who work in, or with, artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in Latin America. The event plays a key role in strengthening the AI ecosystem in Latin America by providing educational activities led by renowned researchers, interactive hackathons in partnership with local organizations, and networking opportunities for researchers and industry members.RIIAA will be celebrating its 6th installment on February 19-25, 2024 in Quito, Ecuador, for one week. The event will have four main components: an education track, a research track, an applied track, and a hackathon. Education Track - Courses and WorkshopsOver three days, established researchers from around the world will give lectures on various topics in artificial intelligence, such as natural language processing, computer vision, and reinforcement learning. These are followed by practical sessions in the evenings where students will learn how to implement and incorporate these solutions in code. AI Research Day - Focus on Latin AmericaThe research day will have a combination of keynote speakers, panels, and discussion groups discussing AI research, the role Latin America can play in it, and the role Latin America can play in the world. Industry Day - Focus on Applications of AIThe applied day will have a combination of industry keynote speakers, panels, and workshops discussing how AI is applied in practice. Hackathon WeekendWe will end the week with a hackathon over the weekend. Conference participants will apply the skills learned throughout the week to real-world problems.
