About this event

The Civic Theater is San Diego's only Broadway style theater that can host national touring acts. Learn the skills needed to be dispatched as a rigger in a theater setting.

This class will focus on:

  • Working on a tension grid or loft over a stage
  • Pulling points
  • Installing baskets in both dead-hang and bridal configurations
  • Working and communicating with other riggers

This class will be held over two days:

  • Tue, Oct 24, 2023, 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM
  • Wed, Oct 25, 2023, 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM

This class has PRE-REQUSITES: Learners must have successfully completed RIGGING 020 Open Skills Lab and/or be given permission by a Rigging Committee Member or from the Education Department in order to attend this class

PLEASE NOTE:

  • This is a highly demanding job that requires both strength and stamina.
  • The learner must have worked a call from the referral hall, worked under a collective bargaining agreement, or be a current member of IATSE Local 122.
  • This is an in person class. This class has limited attendance and all attendees must have a reservation; therefore, it will be treated like a job call.
  • If you are unable to attend, please cancel your ticket or email education@iatse122.org.
  • Tardiness and/or No-Call-No-Show will be reported to the IATSE Local 122 Compliance Committee.
