City Blossoms and Dreaming Out Loud invite you to join us at The Farm at Fort Stanton's Ribbon Cutting on Saturday, May 11th, 2024 from 11am - 2pm. Featuring farm and garden tours, interactive workshops, nature play, music, food, and more! At this family friendly event, we will share ways youth, families, and community members can participate in drop-in garden-based programming and produce pick-ups beginning on-site this spring! This event is rain or shine!

The Farm at Fort Stanton is a collaborative space located in Fort Stanton, adjacent to the Anacostia and Barry Farm neighborhoods in Ward 8, Washington DC. This space functions as both a production farm and community space for all ages. The City Blossoms team provides free, weekly drop-in programming for children in the farm’s Youth Garden. The production farm, composed of three hoop-houses, is managed by Dreaming Out Loud. This land is provided by DC’s Department of Parks and Recreation.

Organized by

City Blossoms is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that cultivates the well-being of our communities through creative kid-driven gardens. Since 2008, City Blossoms has designed, developed, collaborated on, and provided programming or trainings for over 100 projects throughout Washington, DC and nationwide. Our work serves Black, Latino, and children of immiagrant backgrounds, ages 2-19.

Applying our unique brand of gardens, science, art, healthy living, and community building, we "blossom" in neighborhoods where kids, their families, and neighbors may not otherwise have access to green spaces. City Blossoms' five age-targeted create a pathway where toddlers make their first connections to nature, children grow as stewards of their environment, and young people bloom as leaders.

Check out our Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter pages and our website to learn more about the fantastic, functional, community-building gardens we grow and how you can be a supporter today!
