About this event

rFUTURE NYC 2023

Join us for a red carpet event – the film premiere of rFUTURE NYC 2023 with two live performances by featured student musicians!

rFUTURE is a collaborative program between CGMM, Inc. and the NYC Department of Education’s Theatre Arts Production Company School (TAPCo), and Office of Sustainability.

The arts are an important way to take climate and sustainability action, and rFUTURE gives public high school students across the city the opportunity to use their voices and words to create positive change through music. Students are paired with a professional musician mentors and student video production teams from TAPCo to provide a transformative experience like no other!

Ahead of the public release of rFUTURE 2023 film on YouTube, friends and family of students, and guests of the partner organizations, are invited to this red-carpet premiere and performance!

What is rFUTURE?

rFUTURE is a sustainability, leadership and empowerment program that uses music & video to share observations and solutions for building a more sustainable existence in communities.

How does rFUTURE's program work?

Students partner with mentors to identify what they believe is the single, greatest challenge to creating a sustainable existence in their community. Next, they identify and articulate specific solutions. Last, they work with rFUTURE's team to create an original song and documentary music video.

Accessible Entrance

Accessible Entry: 111 Amsterdam Avenue, between West 64th and West 65th Streets, or on the plaza level, between Metropolitan Opera House and Lincoln Center Theater.

There is wheelchair accessible seating in the Bruno Walter Auditorium

Accessible Restrooms

Accessible men’s and women’s restrooms in L level and on third floor. Accessible women’s restrooms only on the second floor.

Is there parking near the venue?

There are several paid parking lots and limited street parking near the venue.

Do you need photo ID to enter the venue?

No, you do not need a photo ID to enter the venue.

Do you need proof of vaccination?

You do not need proof of vaccination to attend. Masks are not required, but are suggested.

Working within the Division of School Facilities, we reduce greenhouse gas emissions through energy management, reduce waste, and promote access to gardens and outdoor learning.
