Reviving the Renaissance

Reviving the Renaissance

Overview

Renaissance drawing and painting workshop

12 Sessions (Twice a week x 6 weeks) since May 2026.

Fridays from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

In this six-week workshop, students will immerse in the renaissance technique to explore the foundations of classical drawing and painting, developing the skills needed to create artwork with depth, realism, and luminosity as the old masters.

We'll explore the art of realistic drawing, the application of chiaroscuro and monochromatic base (grisaille). Finally, students will apply transparent layers of oil glazes to enrich their paintings with color, depth, and brilliance.

By the end of the program, each student will complete a finished classical painting, experiencing firsthand the techniques that shaped some of history’s greatest masterpieces.

This workshop is open to beginners as well as more experienced artists who wish to deepen their understanding of traditional techniques.

The final paintings will participate in a group exhibition.

Students can reserve their desired schedule by email.
