We are so pleased to offer “Reversing Global Warming: An Introduction to Project Drawdown” in New York! The program will be presented by Sandi Goldie and Jim Bronson from Southern Oregon Pachamama Alliance, who’ve been leading these workshops on the West Coast for a year. Admission is free.

Over the past five years, Project Drawdown brought together a qualified and diverse group of researchers from around the world to map, measure and model the 100 most substantive solutions to address climate change. The result of the study, as reported in the book Drawdown, edited by Paul Hawken, is a path forward that can roll back global warming within 30 years. According to Hawken, drawdown is that point in time when the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere begins to decline on a year-to-year basis.

The plan shows that humanity already has the means at hand. Nothing new needs to be invented, and the solutions come from a variety of sectors, including education, land use, food production, energy, transportation, building and city planning, and even the materials we use in our daily lives. In other words, there is a part to play for everybody.

The evening will include group discussions and video clips of Hawken introducing and explaining Project Drawdown.
