West 117 Foundation is pleased to announce its inaugural curated art show and benefit titled, “REVEAL”, A Showcase of LGBTQ+ Art presented by First Federal Lakewood. Co-curated by West 117 Foundation Board members Laura Ruth Bidwell and Kyle Kidd, the show will spotlight 30+ featured works from LGBTQ+ artists of all ages, backgrounds, and identifications. The showcase provides an opportunity to learn more about the artwork, and how West 117 Foundation is supporting Greater Cleveland’s LGBTQ+ community. Proceeds from sponsorships, ticket sales, and a portion of the available art sales will help advance the Foundation’s mission further.A First-Look reception will be held on Friday, December 3rd from 7-10 p.m. at The Yards Project within the Worthington Yards residential community. Special VIP Access is available from 6-7 p.m. for early-bird purchases, and a one-night-only drag showcase by West 117 Foundation Guest , Dr. Lady J, A free, public opening reception will be on Saturday, December 11th from noon-4pm. The Reveal Show at Yards Projects is by appointment at yardsprojects@gmail.com or 216-570-0324.The gallery collection will feature works from local artists Denise Astorino; Karen D. Beckwith; Benji Diaz; Joe Dill; Aja Joi Grant; gil kudrin; Mandem; Max Markwald; Richard A. Mayer; Benji &quot;Bea&quot; Muskal; Kelly Pontoni; Andrew Reach; Rick Rollenhagen; John Saile; Mikey Silas; Jules Thurman; Mark Yasenchack. Works will be for sale beginning the night of the event and can be purchased with the assistance of a gallery attendant. Proceeds go to benefit the artist, Yards Projects, and West 117 Foundation.With the new Omicron Covid-19 variant, West 117 Foundation and Worthington Yards have requested that face masks be worn indoors while attending the REVEAL gallery exhibit. Entry to the event will require proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of the event, and a temperature check at the door. Outdoor access is available on site. These policies apply to attendees, staff, and all performers/DJs. These precautions have been put in place to keep all patrons, staff, performers and the most vulnerable in our community as safe as possible while keeping our community connected and doors open for all to enjoy. The West 117 Foundation, Inc. was established in 2020 with a mission to provide leadership to Cleveland’s LGBTQ+ community to raise private sector funds, steward the assets received, and make grants in support of entrepreneurship, arts, culture, health and human services and other relevant programs. From rental subsidies to arts and cultural programming to entrepreneurship and upskilling opportunities, the Foundation aims to help level the playing field for Northeast Ohio’s LGBTQ+ population.
