Is this a "sport bike event"?

This event was created with sport bikes in mind, but it is open to anyone on 2 wheels, and trikes.  The route has been laid out for sport bikes, featuring a mix of scenic stretches and fun, twisty roads that all riders can enjoy.

How does the WayHopper app work for this event?

Accepted Answer

WayHopper is a digital check-in system that replaces traditional paper cards. Simply download the app, join the event, and check in at each stop to automatically receive your virtual poker cards. At the end of the ride, the app will instantly determine the winning hands.

Question 3

What does the $10 ticket include?

Accepted Answer

Your ticket covers entry to the ride and a free lunch. You’ll receive a lunch ticket when you check in at A Biker’s Garage before the ride begins.

Question 4

What time does the event start?

Check-in starts: 9:00 AM
Launch: 10:00 AM
We recommend arriving early to check in, grab your activation code, and get ready for the ride.

Question 5

How long is the ride?

Accepted Answer

The exact route length will be available on the WayHopper app once you join the event. Expect a half-day ride with multiple scenic stops and an enjoyable pace.  (a 3 hour ride if you are riding hot, or, about 4.5 hours with breaks.)

Question 6

How do I win the Poker Run?

Accepted Answer

At each stop, you’ll automatically collect a virtual poker card. At the final stop, the WayHopper app calculates the best poker hand. The rider with the best hand and worst hand wins.

Question 7

Do I have to stay for lunch?  (Lunch 1pm to 4pm)

Lunch is included, but it’s totally up to you if you want to stay and eat after the ride. It’s a great chance to hang out, swap stories, and celebrate the ride with fellow riders.  If you would rather stop and eat along the route, that is okay too!

Can I ride with a group?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Whether you're riding solo or with friends, everyone is welcome. If you don't have a group, you can connect with other riders at A Biker’s Garage before we head out.  If you want to launch with your own group, you are welcome to create sub-groups and ride together.

Question 9

What type of roads will we be riding?

Accepted Answer

The route includes a variety of scenic highways with smooth pavement and enjoyable curves, making it fun for all riders, including those on sport bikes, cruisers, and touring bikes.

Question 10

Do I need to use my phone while riding?

Accepted Answer

No. You’ll check in at stops when you arrive, but you don’t need to interact with your phone while on the road. Ride safe, enjoy the experience, and let WayHopper handle the Check In at each location.

Question 11

What if I don't have signal on my phone at a location?  Will I be able to participate?

Accepted Answer

WayHopper does require an internet/data connection to provide a virtual card.  Although, if you have signal issues, simply continue on the ride with the group and we manually provide you the ability to check in to all stops from the final location.

When does the event end?

Accepted Answer

Last bike must be back to A Biker's Garage by 4pm.  Winner will be announced at 4pm-ish.  Best Poker Hand does not need to be present to win.  (Note - You won't be able to check in on WayHopper after 4pm)   We will wrap up the event by 5pm... Although, please hand out as long as you would like!!
