About this event

Princeton Entrepreneurship Council (PEC) cordially invites all alumni returning to campus for Reunions to join us for this year’s Reunions 2024 Tiger Entrepreneurs Conference and Startup Competition. The conference, which includes continental breakfast, lunch, and a celebratory reception, is scheduled for Friday, May 24 at Friend Center. Alumni, students, and friends of Princeton's entrepreneurial community are welcome.

----------

The theme for the conference is Entrepreneurship with Purpose and Impact. Startups with purpose-driven missions offer a meaningful and impactful vision for employees, customers, and investors. Social impact ventures and non-profit initiatives are playing an increasingly large role in driving impact and change across the U.S. landscape and beyond. The 2024 Reunions Tiger Entrepreneurs Conference celebrates Princeton alumni and faculty who are driven by vision and purpose to make a meaningful impact in society.

Join us for several panel discussions that explore purpose-driven entrepreneurship and other startup topics, as well as a number of skills-based workshops of interest to founders, funders, and the entrepreneurially curious.

As always, the conference includes the annual Startup Competition, organized by our friends at Princeton Entrepreneurs’ Network (PEN).

The conference and startup showcase will be held at Friend Center.

----------

Last year, almost 450 alumni and guests attended the conference. We anticipate an even larger audience this year! To meet the demand, more programming than ever is being planned.

To see the full agenda and bios visit our 2024 Reunions Tiger Entrepreneurs Conference website.

Beginning at 9:00 am, continental breakfast will be served. Come early for breakfast and coffee. The conference programming begins promptly at 9:30 am and will feature alumni and faculty entrepreneurs on a variety of topics and will include panel discussions, fireside chats, and skills-based workshops.

Panel discussions will feature conversations on the following topics:

  • A conversation among faculty innovators who are spinning out initiatives across a number of social impact themes. Hear how Princeton is contributing to and driving significant changes in areas such as the management of disinformation, precision medicine, and poverty-focused policies.
  • An alumni entrepreneurs discussion on climate tech and sustainability issues, with perspectives by founders and funders and the role of the private sector in driving innovative change in this sector.
  • A conversation by alumni leaders of educational non-profit organizations who are compelled by purpose and mission to make meaningful reforms in our educational system.
  • A conversation among Princeton women VCs who will discuss investment trends and opportunities they see in the startup world and also the impactful change these investment leaders are driving to close the funding gap for diverse and women founders (and investors, too).

----------

Workshops will feature alumni experts and others sharing their perspectives and skills in the following areas:

  • How to Cultivate an Entrepreneurial Mindset, led by Christine Galib ‘08
  • Alumnus (and Princeton lecturer) Chris MacPherson ’08 will lead a workshop inspired by an undergraduate class he teaches on Creativity, Innovation, and Design
  • A discussion of how to decide, when ready, to fund your startup with a SAFE note, an enhanced convertible note agreement, or priced equity, led by Dror Futter ‘86.

----------

A fireside chat, led by Princeton Vice Dean for Innovation Craig Arnold with Andrea Jung '79, CEO of Grameen American and former Chairperson and CEO of Avon.

----------

After the fireside chat, the top vote-getters (as tabulated from attendee ballots) of the PEN Startup Competition will present to the full conference and the winner will be selected by a slate of judges. This is always one of the highlights of the annual Reunions conference.

To celebrate Princeton entrepreneurship, the conference continues with a festive reception where alumni and student entrepreneurs will gather and network. This year’s reception will bring many different alumni and student entrepreneurial organizations together, including Princeton Entrepreneurship Council, Princeton Entrepreneurs’ Network, Princeton Alumni Angels, e-Club (the largest student-run organization on campus), and Keller Center for Innovation.

After the reception, conference attendees are invited to attend an Alumni-Faculty Forum -- "Start Me Up: Entrepreneurs Share Their Stories of Purpose” that will be held in the Friend Center auditorium.
