Infinite Legacy is a nonprofit organ procurement organization (OPO) serving almost 10 million people in Maryland, Northern Virginia and Washington, DC. Our teams facilitate organ, eye and tissue donation and educate people about the critical importance of registering to be a donor. Join us for a FREE virtual grief workshop: Returning to "Normal."
After a major loss, it can feel like there is an expectation to get back into the normal swing of things. Whether it be home responsibilities, caregiving tasks, work, and/or school demands, it may feel like everything is more difficult to manage while grieving. Loss impacts our body, mind, and behavior in profound ways and for varying amounts of time.
This free virtual workshop is geared toward individuals ages 15+ who are looking to integrate a major loss into their life in a healthy way. Through educational and supportive discussion, we will focus on understanding grief, common reactions, managing stress, communicating needs with others, and exploring aspects of self-care.
We will also offer the opportunity to learn some stress-management yoga movements at the end of workshop. Please wear comfortable clothing if you'd like to take part in the yoga activity. 
A Zoom link and password will be sent via email at least 24 hours before this event begins.
Please register by August 14, 2020.
 
About the Yoga Instructor: Lynette R. Connelly, MSW, LCSW-C RYT 500, is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Social Work and has centered her career specializing in adult and child welfare. Lynette has spent the last 20+ years as a therapist in Westminster, MD, working for agencies, hospitals, and is now owner/operator of her own private psychotherapy practice. Lynette trained at Baltimore Yoga Village in the 200-hour and 300-hour Jivan Yoga teacher training. Lynette has an ongoing series teaching yoga for Depression and Anxiety and overall emotional balance.

While they are good opportunities for individuals to share certain experiences and feelings, if you are struggling with particularly difficult emotions that are regularly affecting your sense of wellbeing and need help processing some of the more sensitive details of your loss, it is recommended that you schedule an individual counseling session prior to this event to see if a group event such as this would be appropriate for where you’re at in your grief journey.
