Over the years, Glen Helen has played a lead role in shaping the ecological literacy of our visitors, our community, and the region.The Glenis home to the first residential outdoor education facility in the Midwest, the first educational forest in Ohio, and Ohio’s original facility for education and rehabilitation of birds of prey. Within the borders of this thousand-acre preserve, we shelter nearly two miles of the State and National Scenic Little Miami River, plus one of the few National Natural Landmarks in Ohio, and we harbor a stretch of Ohio's famous Buckeye Trail.Glen Helen offers something for everyone, from the college student conducting research with their class, to families drawn in by the 400 year-old oaks and trillium-carpeted slopes, from the kids whose lives are changed by a week at the Outdoor Education Center, to the weekend visitor eager to walk some of our 20+ miles of trails.Trails are open to the public from dusk to dawn, daily. Visitors may access the trails free of charge, though donations are greatly appreciated. A modest $5 parking fee is required at our main entrance, located at 405 Corry Street, Yellow Springs, Ohio.The Glen Helen Nature Shop is open to visitors, Monday through Friday, 9:30 am to 4:30 pm, Saturday and Sunday, 10 am to 4 pm.Visit our Animal Ambassadors, learn about Glen Helen, and explore ecological exhibits in our Trailside Musem; weekends. Glen Helen Ecology Institute

The Rich Earth Institute works at the intersection of agriculture and sanitation by diverting urine from the waste stream and providing fertilizer for farms. Executive Director Kim Nace will explain the science behind the effort and their results to date. McGregor 113 on the Antioch campus. Free.
FAQ's
Are tickets available at the door?
The event description should note if registration is required for event attendance, if not you may purchase a ticket from the organizer. However, many events have a minimum thresholds and/or a maximum attendee limit, registering online is the best way to ensure the event takes place and that you are able to get a ticket. 
The best method for purchasing tickets is through Online Registration as it helps us to prepare for the event. Online registration is available until 30 minutes prior to the hike on the day of the event or until the group maximum is met, whichever comes first. Walk-in registration is not available.
Since we are a nonprofit organization, your ticket purchase serves as a donation receipt. We appreciate your cooperation.
Are there ID requirements or age limitations?
Please check in with our staff only once your entire party is present. The individual placing the order will be asked to show ID at check-in. If this event has age limitations, all members of your party will be asked to show proof of age.
Do I need to bring my printed ticket?
No. We do our best to minimize paper waste. Please bring your ID to check-in digitally.
Upon arrival, please see the Glen Helen staff/volunteer member to check-in with your party.
What can/can't I bring to the event?
Please dress comfortably and appropriately for expected weather and trail conditions.  Wear closed-toe, trail appropriate shoes. Hiking sticks and trekking poles are permitted.
A water bottle is recommended.
Though we are a pet-friendly preserve, pets are not permitted on guided hikes.  If pets are permitted for this hike, it will be noted in the description above. We appreciate your understanding.
What are my parking options at the event?
Participants may choose to park in the lot located at our main entrance, at 405 Corry Street, Yellow Springs. Members park free, nonmembers, $5. If the parking lot is full, parking is available across the street in the overflow lot adjacent to the Antioch College Dorm; on the corner of Limestone and Corry Streets.  Please DO NOT park in the dorm parking lot. Your vehicle may be towed. Parking also available for this event behind the Antioch College Library.
Street/curbside and lot parking is also available in the Village of Yellow Springs.
Will the event be canceled if it rains?
If rain or poor conditions occur, this event may be canceled. If extreme weather or dangerous conditions occur this event may be canceled. Participants will be notified of any change via email, at least 2 hours prior to the event. Please check your email before departing for this event.
What is the refund policy?
We hope you are able to attend. In the event that a refund is necessary, please log into your Eventbrite account, go to Current Orders by clicking on My Tickets. When you find your order, click on it. Look for a button to Request a Refund and fill out the short contact form. Please include your order number and phone number to assist us in processing your request.
Refund requests must be received by 5 pm on the Wednesday before the hike.
If you are unable to make it to this event and decide not to request a refund or your request comes after the refund deadline, please know that 100% of your ticket value has been donated to Glen Helen, to support ecological education programming and environmental protection efforts. Your donation is tax deductible. Thank you. We appreciate your support.
