About this event

  • 7 hours

Each participant will work with a different year of South Taranaki temperature data over the last century. We will each create a free-form textile piece of our year’s climate using any and all fiber art forms. The group will use the same colors to correspond to the same temperatures, so the pieces will come together to tell a story of local climate change. The final collection will be displayed in the gallery.

Clara Benadon is travelling the world as a marine scientist and a fibre artist to research how fibre production can achieve important climate impact goals. She is interested in engaging with local people at a grassroots level to talk about our changing world.

This workshop requires no expertise - just curiosity about our place and the way things change with time. Please PM the gallery to register. Read more about Clara on: https://fromoutofthebluestudiogallery.com/clara-benadon/
