In this training, participants will gain a foundational understanding of the history of restorative practices, the elements that encompass the ideology, and the ways it can be used to benefit organizations, groups, and society.

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Define restorative practices
  • Recognize the difference between traditional (retributive) versus restorative discipline
  • Identify their values as it pertains to justice and discipline
  • Understand how Native American roots ground these practices
  • Name the benefits of a restorative system
  • Understand how these practices are already at work in their community
