NIHR Associate PI Scheme

The NIHR Associate Principal Investigator (PI) Scheme is pleased to announce the Research Learning Lectures: a series of lectures for anyone in Health and Social Care interested in learning more about research. <h3>What are the Research Learning Lectures?</h3>The Research Learning Lectures are a series of lectures covering a variety of topics relating to basic science, clinical trial methodology and statistics.The lectures provide career advice for anyone who wishes to know more about research or work towards a career in research or academia.Attendees will also have the opportunity to hear from and put questions to research experts from across the world.The Research Learning Lectures have been developed by Dr Kiran Reddy and Queen’s University Belfast Critical Care &amp; Respiratory Research Group and now also include lectures developed by Dr Sophie Merrick and The Medical Research Council Clinical Trials Unit (MRC CTU) at University College London (UCL).The Research Learning Lectures are hosted by the NIHR Associate PI Scheme. <h3>Who are the Research Learning Lectures aimed at?</h3><ul><li>Current Associate PIs</li><li>Associate PI Alumni</li><li>Health and Care professionals with an interest in learning more about research.</li><li>Those with an interest in learning about research delivery or research leadership</li><li>Those with an interest in a career in Clinical Academia</li></ul> <h2>Next lecture:</h2>Lecture title: Balancing acts: the story of being a woman in academic medicineDate &amp; time: Thursday 5th February, 1:00pm - 2:00pm (BST)Speaker: Professor Corinne Faivre-Finn (University of Manchester)Chair: Dr Sophie Merrick (MRC Clinical Trials Unit at UCL) <h2>Upcoming:</h2>Lecture title: Understanding the NIHR Biomedical Research CentresDate &amp; time: Thursday 23rd April, 2:00pm - 3:00pm (BST)Speaker: Professor Ann Henry (University of Leeds)Chair: Holly Speight (NIHR Associate Principal Investigator Scheme Manager) <h2>More lectures are on the way!</h2>More lectures are on the way!
