About this event

Let's celebrate the summer solstice with a rejuvenating morning nature immersion. Connect deeply with the natural world and gather tranquility to enrich your busy life. Let's welcome the summer with peace and serenity.

Join me for a remotely guided nature immersion where we'll journey together to experience a deep, sensory connection with the natural world around us. The nature immersion experience is inspired by the Japanese practice of shinrin yoku (“Forest Bathing”), a research-based practice known to boost immune strength, reduce stress, and improve cognitive function, all while helping us feel more connected – to each other, to the natural world around us, and to ourselves.

The magic of this immersion, guided from afar, is that it takes place in your chosen natural space – a local park, a garden or greenhouse (especially nice as an escape from the cold winter weather), or the familiar comfort of your own yard. All you need is a view of the natural world and a device (with connection to the internet) to dial into the Zoom session. Many participants of remote immersions have commented that they appreciated being able to connect with nature in their own backyards – without the need for driving to a different location, and allowing them to have daily reconnection with these newfound friends of the natural realm. It's amazing how a familiar spot outdoors can suddenly feel like a new world, ready to be explored with fresh eyes.

As your guide on this journey, I’ll offer a series of simple, yet profound ‘invitations’ to allow you to slow down, sink into the moment, and intentionally interact with the natural world around you. Then we’ll come back as a group to share our experiences. Sharing is totally optional, though. There are no expectations of specific outcomes, just a shared journey of discovery, before we are invited once again to each explore further, alone yet together, in our chosen corners of the world.

Special Instructions

Zoom link will be sent after you register.

Considerations:
* Consider where you might want to be for this in advance and make sure your device works where you plan to be (Ensure you have good cell service or wifi connection so you can dial into our session).
* This will be a slow, mindful activity, so you’ll want to dress appropriately for spending time outdoors. If you are concerned about being cold outside, know that you can step back inside the house, or sit in your car, in between invitations while we’re sharing with each other.
• Please make sure you are in a safe place.
• We will start on time. It will be difficult to admit people to the meeting once we begin. You may want to join a few minutes early to settle in and get anything you may need to be comfortable.

What to bring
• A fully charged device (cell phone, iPad, laptop) - Make sure you have enough battery power for 1 hour (or bring a backup charger or other power source).
• Comfortable clothes - Dress appropriately for the weather (wear layers) - we won't be moving much.
• Some tea, water, or other beverage of your choice.
• Earbuds or headphones (optional)
• If you cannot be outside, set yourself up next to a window and have some house plants, rocks, shells, or any other nature beings around you.
