The purpose of the Rural Online Initiative (ROI) Program is to provide Utah’s rural workforce and businesses with education, training, and services for online opportunities in remote employment, freelance work, and e-commerce.

Topics will include:

• Tools for analyzing and understanding complex problems
• Strategies to boost creativity and innovative thinking
• Decision-making techniques tailored for remote work settings
• How to overcome common problem-solving barriers in virtual teams
• Actionable frameworks to apply creative solutions effectively

Bio:

Marta Nielsen is a program coordinator with the Remote Online Initiative’s the Certified Tech Sales Professional Course. Marta worked as part of USU Extension’s marketing team for six years before joining the ROI team in November of 2022, and hosts the podcast Remote Work Radio. She has degrees in Urban Planning and Environmental Studies from the University of Utah.
