A pedestrian-based live art experience full of complex soundscapes will take place in Miami Downtown area from  March till April 2016. Fifty people wearing headphones swarm the city, discovering new perspectives. Remote Miami leads audiences on a journey that shifts perceptions of familiar landscapes, unifies the group and conjures up personal memories. A synthetic voice in the headphones directs the movements around the city. The performance is a fun and enthralling game as well as an intriguing mental exercise. Up to what extent are you willing to be controlled by the modern technology? The artificial intelligence is observing human activity from a distant (remote) perspective. Its voice sounds more and more like the one of human, whereas the sounds of the by passers begin to remind a certain strange creature… Remote Miami adds Miami to the list of cities like New York, Berlin, Sao Paulo, Vienna, Moscow, Bangalore, Avignon and Basel, giving audience a chance to look at their home town in a completely new way. One could even say that it is literally a city theatre. Remote Miami combines the elements of theatre, performance, guided tour, computer game and quest. There are no chairs to sit in, the audience takes full part in the action. The events take place in real time where the city streets provide the set design, people passing by become the actors while the surrounding reality provides props. Participants of the show together with their computerized interlocutor explore the city in stereo format, exploring individuality, mortality, memory and the invasion of our mental geography by technology.
