About this event

In an empowering new anthology, REINVENTED TO RISE VOLUME II: STORIES OF PERSEVERANCE, STRENGTH, AND COURAGE, you are invited to explore the remarkable journeys of eight women who faced adversity head-on and emerged stronger. This collection not only shares their true stories but also includes insightful interviews and wisdom from pioneering women who have made history in their respective fields.

Life's challenges come in many forms, from physical hurdles and unexpected job losses to the aftermath of broken relationships. This book delves into these experiences, focusing not on the obstacles themselves but on the resilience and determination it takes to overcome them and reclaim the life one deserves. Featuring a diverse group of women, including the first Female President of Medgar Evers College and the first woman to preside over the Baltimore City Circuit Court, 8th Judicial Circuit, this book is a testament to the power of reinvention. It also highlights the achievements of the President and CEO of a Strategies Group, who served as a Special Assistant to the White House during the Clinton Administration and made history as the first female licensed preacher of the First Baptist Church of Annapolis.

REINVENTED TO RISE is more than a collection of stories; it's a source of inspiration, offering readers a chance to see themselves in the narratives of these courageous women. Their experiences, though unique, echo the universal human spirit of resilience, reminding us that the capacity to reinvent and rise is within us all.

Alethia Tucker and contributing author Jackie Scott are joining us on the Busboys stage to share about their latest anthology that empowers women to achieve their dreams no matter what stands in their way. Copies of the book will be available for purchase during and after the event, and there will be a signing following the program.

This event is free and open to all. Our program begins at 6:00 pm, and will be followed by an audience Q&A. Copies of REINVENTED TO RISE VOLUME II will be available for purchase before and after the event. Please note that this event is in person and will not be livestreamed.

We ask that guests RSVP in order to receive direct updates about the event from Busboys and Poets Books
