Imagine carving your own mark on history! Forget boring statues and towering obelisks – what if you could design a monument that truly reflects your values and memories? This isn't just about honoring famous figures or grand events; it's about capturing something personal, something meaningful to YOU. Join Kerry Kennedy, Executive Director of Cultural Memory and the Reimagining Columbus team to envision what the future of monuments are in Columbus.

Director of Cultural Memory; Kerry Kennedy holds a BA in Psychology and a MA in Art History, Museum Studies focus and her primary goal is to provide various audiences access to community projects. Cultural Memory was founded by Ms. Kennedy in 2010.  It is a consulting firm which focuses on the expertise Kerry gained from working with Cultural Institutions; Museums, Botanical Gardens, Historic Homes/Buildings, Public Art Programs, and Performing Arts Organizations. This breath of experience adds value when creating Community Development, Place Making, or Heritage Tourism projects.

All four workshops are identical and are appropriate for all ages.

With support from the Mellon Foundation’s Monuments Project, the City of Columbus, Ohio has committed to create new public art and commemorative spaces that reflect the city’s collective history, values, aspirations, and to reckon with our city’s namesake, Christopher Columbus. This project will include creating new public art for the City Hall Campus along with a new geographic and contextual setting for the Christopher Columbus statue which will not return to City Hall.
