About this event

Director: Sonja Berggren / Assistant Director: Pam Paulson / Stage Manager: Desiree Nguyen

In My Bones is the story of two very different women's relationship and their eventual friendship, born out of the need to trust . . . and survive. Simidele, a West African teenager with an horrendous history, not to mention, attitude, meets/collides with Antonia, a straight-laced professor of Botany with secrets of her own, as they are forced to become room-mates, detainees in the Brideswell Immigration Detention Centre, England. Agassou, a magical panther, who resides in the gigantic Baobab tree over Simi's bed, watches over her, guiding her magical juju gift.

Featuring Maiya Carter, Ron Holsey, Tamika Katon-Donegal, and Karen Wray.

About the organizer

Celebrating 20 years of producing fabulous plays, Panndora Productions is known for encouraging greatly talented playwrights yet to achieve stardom. Panndora has supported the development of new plays, primarily through its annual Panndora’s Box Festival of New Works. In the last 16 years, 88 playwrights got to hear their work come alive in readings at the Festival. The company has gone on to premiere ten of these plays. IN MY BONES by Doc Andersen-Bloomfield is the latest, following IF NOBODY DOES REMARKABLE THINGS by Emma Gibson, A WOLF’S MOTHER by Cary J. Simowitz, GLOVE STORY by Ken Pisani, JUPITER MOON by Bob Valine, IN KINGS & FOOLS by Kevin Daly, SWEET TEXAS RECKONING by Traci Godfrey, MEDUSA UNDONE by Bella Poynton, FRAGILE THING CRACKS by Ben Jolivet, CATCHING THE BUTCHER by Adam Seidel, and HOOK-UPS by Alexandra Petri. We are honored and proud to count these playwrights in our Panndora family.
